4th of July Parade and Events
July 4th – It’s a day packed with home-town traditions and as all-American as Ennis turns red, white and blue crazy for the 4th of July!
6:00-9:30 Start your day at the Firehall just north of town where EVERYONE goes to the famous Pancake Breakfast. Blueberry pancakes, sausage, bacon and all fixings will get your day off to a good start. And with all the activities, you’ll need it!
9:30 – End of parade. The parade starts at 10:00, but you need to get down to Main Street early to get a good spot. Locals have their pickups on Main with lawn chairs ready for viewing – our version of tailgating. The parade starts with the Star Spangled Banner and our local VFW carrying the colors, followed by the chosen Grand Marshall. From then on it is horses, wagons, antique cars, trucks, pack mules, Shriners, floats, the Diamond J Yellowstone bus….every year is different but a great small-town spectacle.
11:00 or so to 2:00 – Wander the town, have a burger at the park cooked up by the Lion’s Club or grab a July 4th special from a local restuarant or saloon.
2:00 – Rodeo final starts
Fireworks are over the hill in Virginia City and start after dark…around 9:45 pm. Happy 4th of July everyone!
