About the Backroad to Yellowstone

Howdy!

The Madison Valley community has come together to bring you this glimpse into our world.  It is our hope that you will find our stories, our scenery, our services and our hospitality irresistible and will accept our invitation to stop for awhile and share our amazing home on your journey through Montana.

US Highway 287 is a federal highway that stretches from Texas to Montana and is popularly known as the Backroad to Yellowstone. This is one of the best vacation spots in Montana, as the highway covers the shortest but breath-takingly scenic route from Yellowstone to Glacier.  This alternate trip is overlooked by those using Google to find their route. Those searching for adventure on a Yellowstone vacation should know about Madison Valley and all we have to offer!

While the Backroad to Yellowstone is a few miles longer distance from Yellowstone to Bozeman or points east, it is normally the quicker route. But we hope you won’t be in a hurry! There is so much to explore in our part of Montana that you will easily run out of days before you run out of things to see and do. From cowboy towns and rodeos, fishing and hiking, to fine dining and shopping, this is a vacation you won’t soon forget. Wander through our website and then come to the beautiful, unspoiled, Madison Valley in Montana.
